MMS Presents
The Cast of "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow"

During the week of November 12th, the Monroe Middle School Drama Society presented their first production of the 2013-2014 school year. Entitled “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”, the story (based of the book by Washington Irving) follows young Chloe Anderson as she is magically transported back to 1782 New England and into the small village of Sleepy Hollow, NY. While there, she tries to bring some color into her own life by interacting with the citizens of the village including the Van Tassell family, the rough and charismatic Brom Bones, the timid and new school master Ichabod Crane, and the terrifying legend of the Headless Horseman.
The cast was directed by Mr. Holloway and managed by Trinity Williams and also featured wonderful performances by Alana Winiarski as Katrina Van Tassell, Rosy Acosta as the enlightened Elise Van de Lies, Emma Oliver as the magical and curious Chloe, Alec Westmoreland as the town hero, and Henry Helms in the central role of timid yet defiant Ichabod Crane. The cast was supported by various talents from the 6th, 7th, and 8th grades and ALL of the students did a remarkable job with this challenging production.
The next production “ANTIGONE, 1865” will audition on Wednesday, December 4th and Thursday, December 5th and is open to all students from all grade levels.”ANTIGONE, 1865” will be presented as part of our Black History/Cultural Diversity studies.
